  • You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App

  • We urge everyone aged 25 and above who has not yet had their first vaccine to book on the national booking system.

  • From 1st April Barton House will be moving to a usual doctor system. Already we try as much as possible to make sure your appointment is booked with the doctor who knows you best, or with whom you have already spoken. Our doctors are now working in “teams”. This means that if your usual doctor is not available, and your query is urgent, and cannot wait for them to come back, you will be offered an appointment with another doctor in their team. This will mean that you speak to a few familiar faces at the practice and with doctors who know you. We hope that this will mean improved continuity and follow up in your care.

  • Please note we are encouraging all patients attending appointments or visiting  BHGP to  wear a face covering.

Accessible Information Standard

The Accessible Information Standard aims to ensure that patients (or their carers) who have a disability or sensory loss receive information they can access and understand. For example in large print, braille or via email.

As part of the Accessible Information Standard we must:

  • Identify patients who may have an additional communication need.
  • Record the patient's need in our clinical GP system.
  • Flag the patient's record to assure additional communication needs are obvious to practice staff;
  • Share this information with other care givers such as social care;
  • Act to ensure our staff can effectively communicate with patients who may have additional communication needs.

Named Accountable GP for all Patients

From 1st April 2015, all practices are required to inform their patients including children of their named accountable GP, under the new GP contract for 2015/2016. The named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that the surgery provides to you.

If you would like to know who your named GP is please contact reception.

This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice as you currently do.

Repeat Prescription

Please allow 48 hours for processing of your repeat prescription once you have dropped it off at the surgery. We do not take requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.

Cancelling your Appointment

If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone to cancel your appointment.

Out of Hours

Please ring 111 if you have any Out of Hours emergencies. Telephone calls to the out of hours service are routinely tape-recorded as a safe-guard for patients and staff alike

Important Update About Coronavirus

  • Barton House is open and will remain open. If you need to speak to a GP, please book an appointment by calling reception on 0207 249 5511 or by using our online booking service. Our appointment line opens at 8am in the morning, please call at this time for an appointment that day. If your query is urgent we have a duty doctor available throughout our opening hours.
  • You may notice some differences in how we work during the pandemic. We are working, where possible, to reduce the need to come into the practice, and thus reduce the spread of the coronavirus. As always your initial appointment will be by telephone. We may use video calls to help us advise you. If a face to face appointment is needed, this will be offered to you.
  • Please do not attend the practice without first speaking to a doctor
  • If you are invited in for a face to face appointment, we will ask you some questions to check it is safe for you to come to the practice. Please let the doctor know, and do not attend the practice, if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, cough or loss of sense of smell), if you have been advised that you have been in contact with someone with Covid-19, or if you are waiting for the result of a swab test for Covid-19.
  • When you attend for your appointment, please wear a face mask, and if possible, attend alone. Hand gel will be available, please do use this on your arrival.
  • Our waiting room is set up to enable social distancing. We ask that you come close to the time of your appointment to avoid the waiting room becoming busy.
  • We are still providing most of our usual services, including vaccinations and smear tests. Please do contact reception to make an appointment for these. We are currently only arranging blood tests that are urgent, please do discuss with your doctor if you think you need a blood test.
  • We have taken steps to keep our staff safe, including risk assessing our work and use of PPE. We are looking after our mental wellbeing through regular team meetings and staff support sessions.

    Covid vaccination:

  • The NHS is prioritising vaccines for those who will benefit most. Our team is working hard to ensure vaccines are delivered to all our patients in this order of priority. Please do not contact us regarding the vaccine, rest assured you will be contacted to book an appointment.
